Short bio :
Thibaud Senechal is a PhD student at the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics (ISIR) , and a temporary assistant professor at Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC Paris 6) , Paris, France. He holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) Cachan engineering school and a MSc in computer science from the University of Paris-Est. His main areas of research are affective computing, pattern recognition, computer vision and machine learning.
Fields research :
-
Affective computing
- Facial expression description. Where resides useful information to recognize an emotion ?
- Transcription of Action Unit scores (AUs, describing any anatomically possible facial expression) into emotion terms.
-
Kernels learning
- AUs detection with new kernels (HDI kernel) adapted to histogram-based facial coding.
- Facial points tracking using Multi-Kernels Learning (MKL) to fuse online and offline information.
- Muti-Kernels Learning (MKL) to fuse different feature types (AAM, LGBP).
*** Best entry in the first international challenge of Action Units detection (FERA 2011) ***. Official results here.
-
Multilinear Analysis
- Separation of expression and identity factors in facial images. A variation of the Multilinear Principal Component Analysis is proposed and used.
- Tensor representation data
-
Neural networks
- Facial feature points detection using a cascade of neural networks.
